    Hard Freeze Warning

Although we are in the Houston area, there may be times that the National Weather Service Releases Hard freeze warnings. They have recently issued one, so get the jackets out, cover up the plants that can’t be out in the cold and STAY WARM!

What you may not be aware of is that many insurance policies do NOT cover “sudden and unexpected water discharge” better known as broken water pipes. To help with this problem there are some things you can do to prevent this from happening. If you own any real estate property, especially those that are vacant, make sure you that the time to winterize the property. You can do so by turn the water off at the vacant properties. Just simply turn off the water at the water meter and drain the pipes from the house. If turning off the water is something you are not able to do; the second best option is to leave the heat on for the next few day and or insulate all exposed piping and faucets.
